This is the website of The Strathclyde University Big Band ('SUBB'). SUBB is one of only a few long-standing University-based Big Bands in the UK. Now in our 32nd year we have established a reputation for developing young talent and playing varied, interesting and challenging music. Since we formed in 1978, literally hundreds of musicians have passed through our ranks. The band plays a variety of big band jazz arrangements with one of two standards thrown in for good measure. The line up is a mix of experienced players and fresh new talent. Auditions are over and the 2009/10 edition of the band has now been formed based on last year's band with a few new faces. The updated roster shall follow here shortly. We are also pleased to announce the first of the band's gigs for next year. As usual we have renewed our long standing association with Cafe Source for our regular monthly residency.
