Tim began
playing the cornet at the age of 7, originally playing for The JS87 Junior
Brass Band. He then
moved to The Sellers International Junior Brass Band and took the role of
principal cornet for 3 years, winning a few awards along the way (Youth in Brass
1st prize & Best Principal Cornet to name a few). Tim comes
from a musical family, his dad is a trombonist, his mum a singer and his
brother a pianist. TimÕs father
and Grandpa taught him to play and read music. During
high school he joined Kirklees Youth Wind & Symphony Orchestras and
toured Italy, Spain and Poland. TimÕs dad
(Gary Pulleyn) has always played in musicals and theatre and encouraged Tim
to keep playing even when he wanted to give up. Tim followed in his fatherÕs
footsteps and played his first Ôpit gigÕ (as a deputy) at the Lawrence Batley
Theatre, Huddersfield at the age of 16 for the show South Pacific. Since then, Tim has worked in various
pit orchestras and has played in venues such as Sheffield Crucible, Bradford
Alhambra and Leeds Grand Theatre and appeared on Yorkshire Television. HeÕs
currently a student studying Sculpture & Environmental Art at the Glasgow
School of Art and has a part time job working for the Apple Store in Glasgow. |
